Should I pour my beer with gas instead?
If you are planning to consume your keg over more than 2 nights, it is advisable to use a gas cylinder. This will help the beer stay fresher for longer.
Guinness and stouts in particular will benefit from the 75% Nitrogen / 25% Carbon Dioxide mix that can only be achieved using a gas bottle.
This rule does not apply to KeyKegs, as the air never meets the beer. The Kontakt unit pouring off its air compressor is ideal for all KeyKegs - including wine and cocktails!
